Boudoir pose manual…

I’ve been asked quite a lot lately if I am going to come up with some kind of guide to teach boudoir posing.  So, today I’ve started looking into ways to get one manufactured at a reasonable cost and sell it here on the web site. It most likely wont be anything fancy, but a hard working manual you can pull out on shoots and use as a reference guide. I have decided a spiral bound booklet format would be best because you can open it to a page and it will stay open and you wont lose your place.  It will be cost effective for me. I can order them as needed.  If you would be interested in something like this, send me an email and let me know!

Boudoir photography is catching on in southern Maryland!

I wanted to share with all of you a few new boudoir photos taken this week. All of these were taken using a Nikon SB900 speedlight, shot through a small 24″x30″ softbox. I like using the smaller softbox as it lets me control where the light falls on the subject. With the larger softbox I had a problem with too much light spilling on the background. You don’t need tons of lighting equipment to get results like this!

Photoshop before and after photos…

I thought I would post a before and after photo, so you could see what Photoshop can do to punch up a photograph. Lots of new photographers are interested in this.

I recently did a senior photo shoot at the CSX train yard in Baltimore Maryland. BAD IDEA!!!!  We nearly got arrested by home land security officers for being in the yard. We had no idea it was off limits! In the end the officers were really great to us and helped us find a safe urban area to shoot. (I’ll post more photos from this shoot later)

My other job :) NYC photog-shootout

These are a few photos from the NYC photog shootout. Thats me with the red shirt.:)
I was helping Neil van Niekerk out that day. I work with him as an assistant which is why I’m gone from home so much. He teaches lighting workshops around the country. There is even a seminar in England and Ireland this July!!
It’s a fun job! Any photographers out there who want to learn lighting should check out Neil’s blog.
I’ll be at the Washington DC shoot out June 30th and hope to have lots of photos to post next week. Sarah Raley Dale is going to model for the event. I’m sure many of you know her from her today show appearances.

Off camera lighting…

I recently covered the first annual Outlaw Rockfish fishing tournament in St. Mary’s county. Started by my brother Kevin Poole. The award ceremony/party was on Sunday and I decided to try out some new lighting techniques and shoot a few photos of the happy drunk people:). The lighting was amazing! I often use this lighting during portrait sessions outside.

Brad

Hi! Do you have any posts on the lighting you used? I'd love to learn about it.
